THE RCD SHOW
Texas Singer-Songwriters
Performing Their Originals Just For You!
How cool is that?
Meet THE RCD SHOW talent! They are all a hoot!
I strive to locate and bring you the best Texas singer-songwriters I can find. Many are unknown, some are known and all are here because I asked them to play for you and they said yes. To me, that's just about the coolest thing someone could be allowed to do. I love it and hope you do too. Huge thanks to the talent that makes all this possible. We have had over 130 episodes in the past 14 years. Here are just a few. Enjoy.
THIS MONTHS GUEST!
Dan Pickens!
GUY FORSYTH
The Texas Blues Ledgen Guy Forsyth visits the show!
Guy is one of my favorite performers anywhere. He is pure fun. He's played with everyone on earth! He is not only the Man, he's one of the sweetest and funniest people I have ever met. We are very proud he stops by from time to time.
Guy Forsyth Part 2
Guy Forsyth Part 3
BEAR RYAN
I found Bear Ryan playing around the hill country and fell in love with her smooth driving melodic sound. She plays a cigar box instrument her husband made and writes some great stuff. I first heard her on a small Wimberley stage where I also was playing and she floored me and everyone else there. Her stuff has a melodic droning about it that rolls its way deep into your mind fast leaving you wanting more! She's pretty big-time, playing venues like Saxon Pub and the sort. See her if you ever get the chance!

Episode 3
DUKE DAVIS
When it comes to pure Texas-sounding music it's hard to beat Duke Davis! I found Duke in Fredericksburg and the moment I heard him I said I want you to play for my audience. Duke has a Texas way of stringing words together and putting tunes to them that just drips with Texas. I found and recorded him down in Fredericksburg. He's been featured several times and will be back.
One of our big Stars is Xavier Aguirre from San Antonio.
We call him The X Man or just X. He's a real hoot, or Rad as he says. When I fist saw him I was blown away by his songs and his voice and looks. I laughingly told him he reminded me of an Aztic hitman. He smiled and said, "Thanks man, that's what I was going for". if you ever get a chance to see him, don't miss it! He plays all over down towards SA. He will be back to the show soon!
David Touchtone graced our stage a while back on our radio show. David is a true Texas talent. His songs resonate with a sound that is pure country and he presents them that way. His voice is rich and deep and it sucks you in. We are very fortunate He's in our little family. We need to get him back soon!
Bigger Than Elvis by Ricky Charles Dodson
This is a fun little song I wrote about a good, decent man who on his way to get a burger and fell into the web of a wicked woman - and liked it! Hang on!
One of the most amazing things that I get to do with the show is find people like Bill McNeal and bring them to you. Bill is a fabulous writer, an even better performer, and even more just the sweetest man you will ever meet. This is from a few years back. Bill McNeakl everyone.
"Soar With You" A love song by Ricky Charles Dodson. I wrote this song about when I met my wife Cheryl and the night we fell in love. Most of my songs are about how much I love her and how lucky I was to find her 45 years ago.
Bob Tom Reed was my first guest some 13 years ago or so. Bob Tom is a local leader throughout the hill country and beyond. A fabulous songwriter and performer. His guitar and steel guitar skills are out there as well, This was from the first RCD SHOW episode.
Jim Hartwell has been on the show a few times. Jim has a number of very good songs.I found Jim playing in the hill country at different venues and grabbed him up for you.
Patty Finny has come to the show a few times over the years. This is an older show, but one I like to dig out. Patty is pretty well known around the campfires of the hill country.
Anthony Write is our hard-driving, get down and play the blues man! I found Anthony a while back and instantly asked him to become a part of THE RCD SHOW family. I am so glad he's here.
"My Guitar" by RICKY CHARLES DODSON This is one of my favorites. It's about the one-of-a-kind love between me and my guitar. Enough said.
Dan Pickens has been on the show 4 or 5 times. He's a fabulous writer and performer! Dan hails from Driftwood and we play at least once a week. He's a real hill country treasure.
